Data Engineer

A Data Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining data processing software like databases. The ideal candidate will be coordinating with company executives and other professionals to create unique data infrastructure, running tests on their designs to isolate errors and updating systems to accommodate changes in company needs.

Responsibilities:

1. Assembling large, complex sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirements
2. Identifying, designing and implementing internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes
3. Building required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources using AWS and SQL technologies
4. Building analytical tools to utilize the data pipeline, providing actionable insight into key business performance metrics including operational efficiency and customer acquisition
5. Working with stakeholders including data, design, product and executive teams and assisting them with data-related technical issues
6. Working with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to support their data infrastructure needs while assisting with data-related technical issues

Desired qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as computer science, mathematics, statistics, information system, accounting, finance, or business administration from an accredited institution.
2. 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or 5+ years of experience as a data analyst
3. 2+ years of experience in the fintech industry
4. 2+ years of experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala…
5. 2+ years of experience with B2B and B2C customers
6. 1+ year of experience working at a start-up
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
8. Excellent attention to details
9. Certifications: ITIL, PMP. PRINCE, CLA, CPP, Microsoft Azure
10. Languages: Proficiency in French and English
11. Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook mail, Word, Excel, Sharepoint, Powerpoint, Calendar, Teams), Knowledge of data mining tools such as SQL, Access or just any relevant tools.
